Map of Bouches-du-Rhône

Welcome to Bouches-du-Rhône

Three ambiances filled with three different emotions - Marseille, a bustling city with a great cultural and ethnic mix, Arles and the Camargue with its wild untamed countryside, and Provence with a lifestyle all of its own.
This is an outstanding area offering a wide range of experiences - towns, countryside, culture, the sea, festivals, walking, arts and crafts, traditions, relaxation and a chance to meet other people.

"Created over 15 years ago, the ""Noël en Provence"" exhibition has become one of the region's not-to-be-missed winter events, consisting of a full-scale reconstruction of the Christmas celebrations in Provence, in the enchanting setting of La Maison Fouque. This unique itinerary leads visitors on a voyage into Provencal traditions and the art of ""santon"" figurine making. Highlights include a vast crib scene complete with migrating flocks, a table with the 13 desserts, life-size figures in costume dress and various ""santon"" figurine collections.
This free tour also includes workshops, the ""santon"" collections and a demonstration of how the famous ""Coup de Mistral"" - one of Maison Fouque's signature pieces created in 1952 - is made.
